Softwares are the programs which reduce the human effort to perform specific tasks. Softwares are available in every field. In Civil Engineering, there is plenty of software exist for each and every stream available in the Civil field.
Therefore, the following software is useful for a particular stream.
For Structural Field:
STAAD Pro - It is a structural analysis and design computer program
SAP2000 - It is intended for use on civil structures such as dams, communication towers, stadiums, industrial plants and buildings.
CSiBridge - It offers a powerful parametric design of concrete and steel bridges.
ETABS - It has been developed specifically for the multi-story commercial and residential building structures, such as office towers, apartments and hospitals.
SAFE - System provides an efficient and powerful program for the analysis and design of concrete slabs and foundations, with or without post-tensioning.
PERFORM-3D - It is a highly focused nonlinear tool offering powerful performance-based design capabilities.
For Geotechnical Field:
GEO STUDIO - SLOPE/W is used for Slope Stability Analysis
EDUSHAKE - It is normally used for earthquake and Geotechnical analysis.
PLAXIS 2D - It is a finite element package intended for the 2-dimensional analysis of deformation and stability in geotechnical engineering.
PLAXIS 3D - It is a finite element package intended for the 3-dimensional analysis of deformation and stability in geotechnical engineering.
GEO5 - It is a software suite allowing to solve geotechnical tasks, including slope stability, sheet piling, finite element analysis, retaining walls, digital terrain model, tunnelling and underground structures.
FLAC3D - It is a numerical modelling code for advanced geotechnical analysis of soil, rock, and structural support in 3 dimensions.
For Transportation Engineering Field:
Transportation Engineering can be divided mainly into three sub-disciplines such as Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering and Pavement Engineering.
